Welcome to Washington Middle School!
It is with great pride that I join the Washington Continental Family this year to build on its solid history of excellence and tradition of community. Our 420 students are also part of the Bosse High School tradition. As the principal of Washington Middle School, it is my mission to create a culture of expectations that prepare students for success at Bosse High School and beyond through high expectations and shared responsibility. Our students are expected to be "ARMYstrong" both in school and in the community. We will teach and expect students and staff to be Accountable, Respectful, Motivated and do Your best.
In addition to the culture of behavior expectations, the staff has committed to achieve our goal of a school letter grade of B in three years or less. To accomplish this, our teachers collaborate in teams to review our state standards, create assessments, prepare lesson plans and review the results. By working on these things together, we learn from each other and hold ourselves accountable for achieving excellence in student achievement.
School Turnaround has been my passion for the last seven years. Having experienced the complete turnaround of three failing schools, I know the challenges and the rewards of the work ahead of us. With the support of our families and community, we will no doubt accomplish our goal and restore Washington to a place that all of our community will be proud to call their home school. I look forward to joining forces with our faculty, staff, students, families and community to make this a reality for Washington Middle School!
Proud to be a Washington Continental,
Michele Branson
